Search Console steps before the first traffic push.

This page is an internal-friendly public checklist for getting the Windrose guide hub indexed cleanly after deployment.

Pre-submit checklist

  1. 1. Set NEXT_PUBLIC_BASE_URL to the final production domain.
  2. 2. Confirm /robots.txt returns the production sitemap URL.
  3. 3. Open /sitemap.xml and check that core guides and tool pages are listed.
  4. 4. Verify homepage, Windrose hub, and top guide pages load without console errors.
  5. 5. Make sure privacy, terms, contact, about, and disclaimer pages are live.
  6. 6. Submit the domain property in Google Search Console.
  7. 7. Submit /sitemap.xml after deployment.
  8. 8. Request indexing for the homepage, Windrose hub, Beginner Guide, Resources Guide, and Ship Planner.
  9. 9. Check Search Console weekly for impressions, indexed pages, and pages with crawl issues.
